What is Counselling?
Sessions and Fees
Hello I'm Laura a qualified and experienced counsellor based in Parkstone, Poole, Dorset.. Welcome to SeeClear Counselling
I set up SeeClear Counselling so that people like you can find a counsellor near to you at an affordable cost.
I love my role as a counsellor, being able to help you find a way to cope with the challenges that you face.
I specialise in working with panic attacks and anxiety and have had specialist training in working with those who have experienced childhood abuse, but I have helped people manage a range of difficulties they have faced.
I would like to thank you Laura for the help and support you provided me over the last 12 weeks.
I really was quite afraid and anxious about it but you really helped me get through quite a difficult and unexpected time in my life and I very much appreciate you being able to provide a safe space for me to explore my feelings and finding a clear way forward.
Counselling can help you look at life in a different way, helping you to change things that may be troubling you
Counselling is useful to everyone.
Sometimes life can throw some difficult challenges your way, at times you will know how to cope, at other times a little help is needed to make things better.
That is when counselling can be helpful to you.
I specialise in working with anxiety and uncovering why anxiety is such a big part of some peoples lives.
If worry, anxiety and panic attacks are a problem for you I can help you explore what is causing you the anxiety and together we can work on strategies to help you manage it better.
Anxiety can be caused by recent or past events and understanding why these are causing you anxiety helps you to understand how changes in your life can reduce these feelings and lead to a happier more content life for you
- I will listen without interrupting.
- I will help you to understand how you can makes things better
- I will help you to look at things from a different perspective.
- Everything you tell me will be confidential, and although I won't fix things for you, I will help you to find a way to fix things yourself.
There is no 'one size fits all' with counselling, so I work with what is best for you and the problems you bring.
For example, CBT is good for anxiety but person centred is best if you are trying to work through a particularly difficult time in your life. ie divorce, grief etc
"I was apprehensive to start as I had never had counselling and thought it might be scary and formal......Fortunately it was nothing like that. Laura was engaging and so easy to talk to....I never felt judged or misunderstood...."
Unlike the NHS I do not have a long waiting list, generally I can make an appointment to see you within a week.
Your introductory session is at a reduced rate of £20 allowing you to meet me and find out how we can work together.
Future sessions are then at £40 for 50 minute
If panic attacks and anxiety are troubling you I offer a 12 week programme that will stop the panic attacks and reduce your symptoms such as racing heart, nausea, muscle spasms, dizziness etc. Please book an introductry session to discuss if this programme will be suitable for you.
To book your first session please phone, text or e-mail me and I will get back to you, usually within a couple of hours, and we can find a time that suits you and book an initial session.
